Slovenia Excursion: Lake Bled

The fertile land, the protective shelter of the castle hill and the island, have always invited the settlement of the Bled area. The first, and still rare traces of humans in Bled, date back to the Stone Age.

The lake is located in the Julian Alps in northwestern Slovenia, where it adjoins the town of Bled. The area is a popular tourist destination. The lake is 35 km (22 mi) from Ljubljana International Airport and 55 km (34 mi) from the capital city, Ljubljana.

  1. marvelous photos........

Bled, the Slovenia’s number one tourist attraction is located in the beautiful and mountainous northwest of Slovenia. With less
than 1-hour drive from Ljubljana and 1.5 hour from Koper it’s easily accessible and perfect for a half day trip.
